Right before Denton tries to kill Harry, the two lock eyes in a soul gaze. Once the soul gaze is complete, Marcone stops the would-be execution, only to be double crossed and captured by the FBI. Dresden finds himself in a pit with the rest of his crew waiting for the coming of the Loup Garou.
